Hailing from Sydney, Australia, and emerging from that city’s indie scene in the mid 80’s, Happy Hate Me Nots released 2 mini albums, 7 singles, and a full length album on the Waterfront label before disbanding. A unique 2 guitar, melodic, up tempo sound with strong memorable songs became the band’s trademark. HHMNs reformed in 2006 to promote the release of of the 2CD compilation “The Good That’s Been Done”, which came out that year on the Feel Presents Label.
Having too much fun playing again after a long break, the band decided to stay together and work towards new material. With the release of the CD, HHMNs appeared as support for the Buzzcocks on the eastern leg of Oz on their 2006 national tour, as well as doing a few shows in Sydney on their own. A new HHMNs album is nearing completion. Its got the trademark Hate Me Nots sound, so stay tuned.
